Mynydd Isa Field for Y-factorouth

Y-factorA celebration to commemorate the Mynydd Isa Field for Y-factorouth (MiffY-factor), a project to refurbish the Bonc Recreational Area of the village, took place on the 15th of July 2010.


Residents, many dignitaries, including the Duke of Westminster, and of course many youngsters from the area, attended the ceremony.

The program went as follows:

  • 11.00a.m. - Arrival of The Duke of Westminster KG CB OBE TD CD DL.
  • Welcome by Cllr. Owen Thomas, Chairman FCC.
  • Address by The Duke of Westminster.
  • Tree planting by pupils attending the three community schools, sponsored by Grosvenor Garden Centre.
  • Address by Cllr. Maureen Jones, Chair of ACC
  • Address by Huw Vaughan Thomas, Wales Chair of the Big Lottery Fund.
  • Cllr. Maureen Jones invites the Duke of Westminster to present a certificate to the winner of the ‘Design the Sign’ competition sponsored by Cambian Healthcare.
  • Unveiling of the Bonc Recreational Area sign by the Duke of Westminster and Ellie Williams.
